During the month of October, Peace House will be hosting many events to bring support to Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Scarecrow at McPolin Barn: The Peace House scarecrow will be displayed at the McPolin Barn beginning the third week of September and through the third week of October. Be sure to walk around and see all of the scarecrows!

The Clothesline Project: The Clothesline Project started in Cape Cod in 1990 and provides the opportunity for women affected by violence to express their emotions by creating t-shirts with their own individual designs.

The Peace House Clothesline Project will be displayed throughout the month of October at various locations.

North Summit High School Clothesline Project

Purple Ribbons: Purple ribbons will be wrapped around trees in key locations throughout the month of October, including the Park City Library, Park City Municipal Corporation, and city buildings in Midway.  Look for purple ribbons around the city that bring awareness to domestic violence.

Light in the Window Campaign (NEW Event!): Post a flyer in your windows or post on social media to shed light on the devastating effects of domestic violence. The flyers signify a unified commitment to making every home a safe home. Look for flyers throughout Wasatch and Summit counties throughout October.

Opportunities Night: This conference will feature a keynote speaker, breakout sessions, information tables, food trucks, and a drawing for UESP scholarship money. This event will take place at South Summit High School on Monday, October 15, 4:30-8:00pm.

Fall Festival Family Night (NEW Event!): This is an opportunity for families to join us in a fun environment and learn about the important resources to keep families safe from violence in the home. There will be fun activities for kids as well as information tables for the adults. The festival will be held at the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center on Tuesday, October 16, 6:00-8:00pm

Candlelight Vigil: The annual Peace House Candlelight Vigil honors Utahns who have lost their lives at the hands of a person they once loved and trusted. Join us on Wednesday, October 17, 5:30-7:30pm at St. Mary’s Church.
