According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, an average of 20 people experiences intimate partner physical violence every minute in the United States. Physical violence is just one of many types of domestic violence. This class introduces the broad topic of domestic violence and the many forms that is can take.
Consent and Coercion in Interpersonal Relationships

With a new and improved definition of consent in the state of Utah, it is a perfect time to explore what the word truly means. This course will examine the taboo topics of consent and coercion, address the issues fueled by avoiding the topic, and discuss options to break the stigma.
Gender Norms and Violence Towards Women

As a society, we create social rules and structures that individuals are expected to follow. When looking at how men and women fit into these rules, it is often more harmful than helpful. This course will explore gender norms as one of the contributing factors for high rates of violence towards women.
