Almost everyone has experienced some form of trauma. At this informative and interactive forum parents, school personnel, health care professionals, service providers, law enforcement and others will learn about and discuss:
*The impact of trauma on health, well-being and behavior
*How we can use a trauma informed approach when communicating and interacting with people who have experienced trauma
*How panel members from Mountain Mediation Center, PCSD, Peace House, and local service providers are using this approach in their work.
Dr. Kathy Franchek is an Assistant professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine who works extensively in the trauma-informed care system. She is currently the chair of the Domestic Violence Committee at the University of Utah and serves on the Advisory Council to Peace House.
