Peace House Turns 30
Peace House began as a grassroots movement in response to tragedy. In 1990, Nadalee Noble, a mother of five, was murdered by her estranged husband during a grocery trip in Park City. Community members mobilized, and in 1995, opened the first Peace House emergency shelter. Since then, Peace House has grown into a vital community hub for domestic violence and sexual assault services, now operating on a campus near Park City Hospital. For 30 years, we’ve been the sole provider of these services in the area.
As nonprofit practitioners working to address the complex realities of interpersonal violence, we know our work becomes stronger, more impactful, and more sustainable when it is done in partnership. Our voices are amplified when we uplift each other’s missions, highlight our shared values, and present a unified front in our advocacy and storytelling. We hope that you join us in this mission, and help us to welcome in another 30 years of strength, dedication, and determination.
Our Prevention and Education team has wrapped up another successful year of presentations and is excited to share data from the 2024-2025 school year. While these numbers provide solid evidence of our impact, we recognize that the true reach of prevention education goes far beyond what this data can capture. Our ultimate outcome is measured in the positive changes we see in our communities, and we are grateful to make a difference with the work we do every day.
Find our prevention team at various events in the community this summer by following us on social media, or reaching out directly to Emma Zevallos, Director of Prevention Education (emma@peacehouse.org) or Erin Meottel, Prevention Coordinator (erin@peacehouse.org) for requests or inquiries.
