May News and Updates

Thank You to our Amazing Volunteers

This May, we are taking the time to recognize the people who make this work possible through their consistency, care, and willingness to show up. Volunteers donate their time and energy expecting nothing in return. This fiscal year alone, we have had folks from Vortex Volleyball Club, National Charity League, Zion's Bank, WorldPay, Serve Park City, and so many more come to our campus to help make our space as safe and inviting as possible.

We know being a volunteer is demanding work, so thank you for contributing so much of your energy and efforts to it. We hope that each shift, event, or delivery helps you feel more connected to our mission. We could not accomplish as much as we do, without you.

We are thrilled to invite you to a special evening dedicated to honoring and celebrating our incredible volunteers!

Join us at City Park, Park City, for a relaxed dinner and a brief, heartfelt recognition program as we express our gratitude for your unwavering dedication. Whether you're delivering food, supporting our services, assisting with outreach, serving on a committee, or helping at events, your contribution is crucial to the success of Peace House. This evening is all about YOU, and we can’t wait to show our appreciation!

This event is open to all Peace House Volunteers and those currently on our volunteer training waitlist. Feel free to bring a guest!

Curious about volunteering?

There are three types of volunteer opportunities at Peace House.

Direct Services: These opportunities involve hands-on support in areas such as childcare, shelter advocacy, hospital response advocacy, and housing support. Because of the close interaction, volunteers in these roles must complete a 24 or 40-hour training to ensure they are well-prepared to provide safe, informed, and compassionate support. Often, these opportunities are long-term or ongoing, so we ask that individuals consider their schedules prior to committing to this training and subsequent volunteer placement.

Indirect Services: Opportunities are designed for those who want to support our mission more sporadically or without direct client interaction. These roles include grocery and food pickup for shelter residents, assisting at fundraising events, and helping with outreach initiatives. They are vital to our day-to-day operations, and because no formal training is required, they provide a flexible and accessible way to contribute.

Group Volunteering: If you’re part of a business, school, faith group, community organization or any other group, Group Volunteering is a wonderful way to give back together. Whether it’s through service projects, event support, or facility development, groups can make a meaningful impact while building teamwork and community spirit.
