We are excited to invite you to the Compass Series, where families and youth in Summit County can come together to learn, grow, and strengthen their bonds. This series, hosted by Emma Zevallos, Peace House Director of Prevention, and Erin Meottel, Prevention Coordinator at Peace House, offers a unique opportunity to explore important topics that impact our daily lives. The presentations will be held in person at McPolin Elementary School, with simultaneous delivery in both English and Spanish to ensure everyone can participate.

September: Building Resilience in Families on Thursday, September 26th, 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at McPolin Elementary School.

October: Preventing Domestic Violence on Thursday, October 24th, 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at McPolin Elementary School.

November: The Power of One Trusted Adult on Thursday, November 21st, 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at McPolin Elementary School.

December: Cultivating Gratitude and Empathy on Thursday, December 19th, 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at McPolin Elementary School.

1. Building Resilience in Families (September 2024)
Equip families with tools and strategies to build resilience, handle stress, and maintain strong, supportive relationships.

2. Preventing Domestic Violence (October 2024)
Raise awareness about domestic violence, its impact on families, and how to seek help or support others.

3. The Power of One Trusted Adult (November 2024)
This presentation could focus on the profound impact that a single supportive and trusted adult can have on a child’s life. It could explore how adults—whether parents, teachers, coaches, or community members—can build trust, offer guidance, and make a positive difference in young people’s lives.

4. Cultivating Gratitude and Empathy in Families and Communities (December 2024)
Foster an inclusive mindset in families and students, encouraging respect and appreciation for diversity within the school community. By the end of the session, participants will have a deeper understanding of the benefits of gratitude and empathy, and how these values can strengthen family bonds and community connections.
