Spring Luncheon a tremendous success!
Peace House 2018 Spring Luncheon was an amazing success because of you! This year’s theme was “Honoring our Past and Looking Toward our Future.”
The annual event raises essential funding to support Peace House programs. These life-saving and life-changing programs include safe housing, outreach, prevention and awareness and clinical therapy and case management.
Kim Fischer from Channel 4 News joined us to open the program expressing her passion as a reporter and survivor working to bring the issues of domestic violence and sexual abuse out of the shadows and into the light. Kendra Wyckoff, Peace House Executive Director followed her with an update on the Peace House Community Campus and future of programming at the new facility. Linda Hudson, a domestic violence survivor, spoke to the 300 Spring Luncheon attendees about her lived experience as a victim of domestic violence and how domestic violence advocacy and supportive services have contributed to her healing and recovery. The program ended with Phyllis Robinson, past Executive Director and long-time supporter of Peace House inspiring our attendees to break the cycle of abuse in our community and help those affected not only survive but THRIVE.
Peace House has embarked on a journey with you, our community, to revolutionize services for survivors and their children. In mid-September 2017, construction began on the nearly 42,000 square foot Peace House Community Campus. This new facility is about more than a building, it is about the supportive and healing programs within the building which will now include the addition of transitional housing and childcare. As construction continues, we expect to move into the new facility in the Spring of 2019.
