Trigger Warning/Content Warning: domestic violence, homicide, interpersonal violence
It is with immense sadness that we share the following news.
On July 14, 2022, we learned the life of a community member experiencing domestic violence was taken. We extend our deepest condolences to their friends and family, but know that condolences from strangers are not enough and will never fill the gap left by this person.
Leaving abusive situations is never easy, but we want to make sure that it is possible. Peace House provides avenues of safety, security, and comfort to individuals and families in situations of interpersonal violence. All services are free and confidential, and survivors may choose the services they need. Services range from emergency services like shelter and legal advocacy to case management, therapy, housing coordination and sexual assault recovery advocacy.
Peace House is dedicated to empowering and supporting victims and survivors of interpersonal violence and abuse. We continue to work towards a day when interpersonal violence is eradicated and that cases such as this are no longer a part of our day-to-day news. Until that day comes, we are here to help and support you.
If you are experiencing abuse or feel unsafe, please call our helpline immediately at (800) 647-9161. Advocates are available 24/7 and ready to help. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
