April Awareness Calendar
In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Child Abuse Prevention Month, and Crime Victims Rights Week we are hosting several events in the month of April!
In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month we will host the following events:
April 17 - “The Hunting Ground” Screening 5:30-8:30 pm
Please join Peace House and the Wasatch County Domestic Violence Coalition for a free screening of “The Hunting Ground” at the Senior Citizens Center Auditorium in Heber City. The unforgettable film shares the personal stories of several rape victims and how they were denied justice from their college schools. High school students are invited! End Violence Now from Park City High School will be at the event!
April 24 - “Roll Red Roll” Screening 6-8:30 pm
Please be our guest at the free screening of award winning documentary “Roll Red Roll” at the Senior Citizens Center Auditorium in Heber City. After the film there will be a post panel discussion. This compelling film graphically depicts the sexual assault of a teenage girl by the beloved high school football team in Steubenville, Ohio. Roll Red Roll uncovers the engrained rape culture at the heart of the incident and shows what can happen when teenage social media runs rampant and adults look the other way.
In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month we will host the following events:
April 1 - Pinwheel Garden Planting
Check out our Pinwheel Gardens around Park City! These pinwheel gardens are blue for Child Abuse Prevention Month, teal for Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and pink for Crime Victims Rights Week. You can snap a photo and share!
In honor of Crime Victims Rights Week we will host the following events:
April 7 - Candle Light Vigil 6-8:00 pm
In collaboration with the Utah Office for Victims of Crime, we will host a Candle Light Vigil to acknowledge the plight of crime victims. This event is open to all and will be held at the Utah State Capitol.
April 8 - Healing Through Art 6-9:00 pm
This event is free to the public and will be held at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art.
April 9 - LGBTQ+ Film Night “Leitis In Waiting” 6:00 pm
This film will be screened at the Sorensen Unity Center in Salt Lake City. It is free! The film tells the story of Joey Mataele, the leader of an intrepid group of indigenous transgender women or leitis, as she fights the rising tide of intolerance in the South Pacific kingdom of Tonga.
April 10 - Multidisciplinary Day

Join us at Jordan Park for Family Day! There will be resources for victims and their families as well as several area vendors and food trucks. The Peace House Clothesline Project will be displayed at the event! The Clothesline Project serves to help victims affected by violence express their emotions
